Abstract
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’nın Don Kişot eseri ilk roman olarak kabul edilir. Bu eserin üslubu ve yazım tarzı dolayısıyla hakkında birçok felsefi yorum yapılmıştır. Don Kişot eserinde modern felsefenin fikirleri de bulunur. Modern felsefenin birçok kavramı ile Don Kişot karakterinin nitelikleri arasında benzerlikler vardır. Bu benzerliklerden biri Descartes’ın modern düşüncede önemli bir yer kazanmasını sağladığı özne anlayışıdır. Descartes’a göre bana öğretilmiş olan ve doğruluğu apaçık ve kesin olana dayanmayan her şeye şüphe ile bakılmalıdır. Şüphe neticesinde elde edilen ilk bilgi şüphe edenin kendisinden şüphe edilemeyecek bir öznenin varlığıdır. Descartes’ın öznesinin şüphesi ile Don Kişot’un deliliği modern öznenin bilinçli özellikleridir. Bu nedenle Don Kişot kitabının baş kahramanı olan Don Kişot, modern özneyi temsil etmektedir. Bu temsil, Descartes’ın modern özne düşüncesi ile daha belirgin hale gelmektedir. Kitap içerisinde serüvenleriyle anlatılan kahramanın düşünce ve yaşam dünyası, Descartes’ın modern düşüncesinden hareketle üç başlık altında irdelenmektedir. Böylece Don Kişot’un deliliği, yanılsamaları ve bireyselliği modern düşüncenin özneye yüklediği nitelikler olduğu savunulmaktadır. Sonuç olarak Descartes’ın felsefi anlayışından hareketle Don Kişot’un da modern özneyi temsil eden edebi bir karakter olduğu görülmektedir.

Abstract
Don Quixote which is written by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra is considered the first novel. Due to the style of this work, many philosophical comments have been made. The ideas of modern philosophy are also found in Don Quixote. There are similarities between many concepts of modern philosophy and the specialities of the character of Don Quixote. One of these similarities is the understanding of the subject that Descartes makes important in modern thought. According to Descartes, everything that I have been learn and whose truth is not based on the obvious and certain, should be viewed with doubt. The first knowledge as a result of doubt is the existence of a subject who cannot be doubt. The doubt of Descartes' subject and the madness of Don Quixote are conscious features of the modern subject. For this reason, Don Quixote represents the modern subject. This representation becomes more evident with Descartes' modern subject thought. The thought and life of the hero, whose adventures are told in the book, are examined with three headings, based on Descartes' modern thought. Thus, it is argued that Don Quixote's madness, illusions and individuality are the qualities of subject in modern thought. As a result, it is seen that Don Quixote is also a literary character representing the modern subject, based on Descartes' philosophy.
