Abstract
Atasözleri, başlangıçta belli kişiler tarafından söylenmişse de ifade güzelliği ve mana isabetinden dolayı zaman içinde yaygınlaşarak halka mal olmuş özlü cümlelerdir. Hemen hemen her dilde hayat tecrübelerini bir düstur hâlinde ifade eden atasözleri, hem yazılı, hem de sözlü anlatımda asırlar boyunca kullanılmış; hüviyetleri belli kişi veya belirsiz kimseler tarafından zaman zaman derlenip kayda da geçirilmiştir. Bu yazıda atasözleri, onları adlandırma, kullanma ve derleme çalışmaları konusunda umumi bilgi verildikten sonra İtalya’nın Padova şehrindeki Bilioteca Antica del Seminario Vescovile’de bulunan Arap harfli bir elyazması meseller kitapçığı tanıtılmış; tamamı 223 atasözü, deyim, mısra, kelâm-ı kibardan ibaret metin, Latin harflerine aktarılarak ilgililerin incelemesine sunulmuştur. Kimin tarafından yapıldığı belli olmayan derlemenin, 16. asrın ilk yarısından sonra yazıldığı, Bursalı Lâmiî Çelebi (ö. 938/ 1532), Güvâhî ve Fevrî’nin (ö. 978/ 1571) birer mısraını ihtiva etmesine bakılarak söylenebilir. Atasözü derlemelerinin ilmî usule göre neşri, hem söz konusu mefhumun yüzyıllar boyunca taşıdığı mana, hem dil ve kültür değişimleri hakkında fikir verecek, hem de geçen asırlarda meydana getirilmiş edebî eserlerde bu çeşit kalıplaşmış dil malzemesinin doğru biçimde tesbit ve izah edilmesini sağlayabilecektir.

Abstract
Although proverbs were said by certain people at the beginning, they are concise sentences that became popular over time because of their beauty of expression and accuracy. Proverbs, which express life experiences as a moral in almost every language, have been used for centuries in both written and oral expression; It has also been compiled and recorded from time to time by certain or unknown people. In this article, after giving general information about proverbs, naming, using and compiling them, a booklet of proverbs in Arabic script found in Bilioteca Antica del Seminario Vescovile in Padova, Italy was introduced; The text, which consists of 223 proverbs, idioms, verses, and theology, transferred to Latin letters and presented to the interested parties. It can be said that the compilation whose author is unknown, was written after the first half of the 16th century by considering that it contains a verse each by Lâmiî Çelebi from Bursa ( 938 / 1532), Güvâhî and Fevrî ( 978 / 1571). The publication of proverb compilations according to the scientific method will both give an idea about the meaning of the notion in question, and the language and cultural changes over the centuries, and will allow to identify and explain correctly this kind of stereotyped language material in the literary works created in the past centuries.
